The 407COMP is one 6 MOA dot and nothing else, while the 507COMP adds the selectable competition circles around it. The gold version of the switchable sight is the HS507COMP Gold.
Is a 6 MOA dot too coarse on the HS407COMP?
It covers more of the target than a small dot, which is the trade for finding it quickly. For stage speed that is usually the right way round.
Why does the HS407COMP have such a large window?
The competition body measures 1.1 by 0.87 inches, which gives you more glass to find the dot through when the pistol is not perfectly presented. That is 28 by 22 mm.
Does the HS407COMP work on a rifle mount?
It uses the Trijicon RMR footprint, so any RMR-pattern mount or slide cut will take it. That covers competition mounts as well as RMR-cut slides.
