Description
EOTech EXPS3-DCR Holographic Weapon Sight replaces the familiar ring-and-dot with the Danger Close Reticle, calibrated for .223/5.56 ammunition. It exists to solve a specific problem: a rifle zeroed for distance shoots low at arm's length, so the DCR builds in a 7-yard chevron solution alongside hold points out to roughly 200 yards. Underneath it is the standard EXPS3 — QD throw lever, lower-1/3 co-witness, night-vision brightness steps.
How It Compares
If you want the traditional ring and dot instead, take the EXPS3-0. The same DCR reticle on the shorter housing is the XPS3-DCR. Extend it with a magnifier, and get your mounting height right with how to co-witness with iron sights.
Also available in: Tan.

Product FAQs
How do I zero the EOTech EXPS3-DCR?
Zero your .223/5.56 rifle at 50 yards with the EOTech EXPS3-DCR. From there the reticle gives hold points out to roughly 200 yards, plus a chevron solution for shots at 7 yards.
Why does close range need its own hold point on the DCR?
The bore sits well below the sight, so a rifle zeroed at distance prints low at very close range. The EOTech EXPS3-DCR corrects for that shift rather than leaving you to guess.
Is the Danger Close Reticle useful with other calibres?
The hold points in the EOTech EXPS3-DCR are calibrated for .223/5.56 loads, so the spacing will not be correct for other cartridges.
Can the EXPS3-DCR run behind night vision?
Yes, the EOTech EXPS3-DCR has 10 night-vision steps sitting below its 20 daylight brightness settings.
What reticle does the EXPS3-DCR use?
The EOTech EXPS3-DCR uses the Danger Close Reticle calibrated for .223/5.56, replacing the familiar ring-and-dot. It is a 1x parallax-free hologram with unlimited eye relief.
How does the EXPS3-DCR differ from the EXPS3-0?
The EOTech EXPS3-DCR carries the Danger Close Reticle instead of the traditional 68 MOA ring with 1 MOA dot found in the EXPS3-0. The body and electronics are the same standard EXPS3 underneath.
What battery does the EXPS3-DCR take?
The EOTech EXPS3-DCR takes one CR123 cell, good for roughly 1,000 hours of run time. A CR123 battery is supplied with the sight.
What is the click value on the EXPS3-DCR?
The EOTech EXPS3-DCR adjusts in 0.5 MOA clicks for both windage and elevation.
How does the EXPS3-DCR attach to a rail?
The EOTech EXPS3-DCR uses an integrated quick-detach throw lever on a 7 mm raised lower-1/3 co-witness base.
Is the EXPS3-DCR submersible?
Yes, the EOTech EXPS3-DCR is submersible to 33 ft (10 m).
How big and heavy is the EXPS3-DCR?
The EOTech EXPS3-DCR measures 3.8 x 2.3 x 2.9 in and weighs 11.2 oz.
What is in the box, and does it come in other colours?
The box contains the EOTech EXPS3-DCR holographic weapon sight and a CR123 battery. The sight is also offered in Tan alongside this Black version.
